Tulsans for Better Government contributors: Whirled money, mouth coincide
Tulsans for Better Government (TBG), the group promoting a petition to dismember three Tulsa City Council districts and adding three supercouncilor seats (to be elected citywide to four year terms), filed ethics reports with the City Clerk's office, as required by state law. As of December 31, 2005, the group has accumulated $66,350.00 and has spent $18,882.14. Given that they suspended the petition drive on December 5, it will be interesting to see what they do with the remaining money.

Tulsa Topics is making a list...... Since the Whirled buried this story on Friday. I thought I would start a running list of the candidates that supported a moratorium of eminent domain being used... Read More
Every time I see one of these lists, it seems to me to be a list of people I'd avoid doing business with, 'cept I don't have any reason to business with any of 'em anyway.
Dang. I don't even have any economic leverage with 'em.
In case anyone thinks that the fight to preserve democracy is over because the petition drive was pulled in favor of the Mayor's Citizens' Commission-notice that $18,500 was raised in December, after the petition drive was pulled--$10,000 from the Tulsa World on 12/30/05.
Don't forget to vote on March 7 & April 4-- and don't forget to hold candidates feet to the fire on their positions on the at-large petitioin drive.
I'm just wondering why the World would funnel its cash through an Oklahoma City bank.
...And my patronage of Ranch Acres Wine and Spirits, my liquor store of choice since 1995, ends as of this moment.
I have three candidates on the record regarding at-large councilors at Tulsa Topics and on audio. The three candidates are: Ben Faulk (Ind. for Mayor), Al Nichols (Dem. for Dist. 5), and Chris Medlock (Rep. for Mayor). Who else has made their stance known?
