Buckley Air Force Base: Command Chief reflects on reveille, retreat, taps

You're walking outside on a US Air Force base at about 5 p.m. and suddenly you hear a bugle call blaring over the loudspeaker. People stop in their tracks and stand at attention. Those in uniform salute. Drivers pull over. What's happening is "retreat." Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Candler, 460th Space Wing command chief, explains the origins and significance of the three daily bugle calls -- reveille, retreat, and taps -- and what you should do to pay proper respect.
